Another footballer attacked (Joao Cancelo) and robbed

Been a few of late! Didn’t Dele Ali have something similar to this Man city fella recently? And a few others getting robbed, then those 2 Arsenal players a while back and even remember a story about an attempted car jacking on Andy Carroll, won’t be long before they have contracts that include personal security, mind you don’t help the way some flash the bling at every opportunity!

Joao Cancelo says he was assaulted by four attackers who stole jewellery from him and tried to hurt his family.

The Manchester City full-back revealed injuries to his face in an Instagram Story on Thursday evening, saying they were sustained as a result of the attack.

The Portugal defender, 27, did not say where the attack happened, but City later said it was during a burglary at the player's home.

The weird thing about burglaries is it’s usually not random. They know what you have and what they are looking for. So it’s a tip off from someone etc.. obviously a footballer is an easy target because there is an assumption you have stuff.

But ultimately all they are really looking for is jewellery and cash. Everything else is a waste of time as it’s pretty hard to sell and not worth doing the time for. Better off selling drugs (which is what most criminals do as it’s just easier money than some aggravated burglary).

So yeah, If your a footballer and have a 50g watch on all the time yeah they will come looking for it. Is what it is. Sad..

I would quite happily take on 4 professional footballers at the same time, all I would have to do is just brush against them and they’d be rolling about on the floor.

The robbers must have been extremely desperate if they were turning over student digs!!

It’s a horrible trend with robbers targeting their houses when they know they are in, rather than at least when the family isn’t there. It’s so fucking brazen. Not nice either way but agree with the bit about playing a hero, even if it’s an attempt to protect your family. You never know what those fuckers might do if they are tooled up and unidentifiable. Just let them take what they came for and not hurt anyone.

Same thing happened to Mark Cavendish very recently as well.

I remember a story a friend told me about when he was at Uni. Him and his housemates were sitting one night watching telly and three or four blokes just broke into their house and told them to fucking stay sitting down while they did the place over, or they’d get seriously hurt and the place would get done over anyway.

Pretty frightening really.

What’s crazy is that he says “this is what happens when you show resistance”.
If 4 men are in your house trying to rob your family unless you have a gun I kind of think you need to chill.
All the hero stuff will get you hurt…
